If only I had a 22" waist!

I finished my niece's circle skirt! For some reason, the last row of gathering wasn't so onerous last night.

I made a binding for the bottom hem...

Added an elastic waist and tied a ribbon in the front...

And I swear to you, if my waist were only 22 inches, I would keep this for myself! Wouldn't it be fun to flounce around in this?

Perhaps I need my head examined, but I am seriously considering making an adult-sized one! And I will not lie, I tried to squeeze into this one...it looked mighty cute around my knees!

I hope she likes it - ONE Christmas present done!!!

The skirt looks beautiful. What little girl (or big girl) wouldn't love wearing this skirt.
If you were making one for yourself I would agree with a comment you made previously about making rectangles instead of squares.

That is just adorable! Back in the day.....waaaaaaay back in the day, I made myself a "granny dress" with a patchwork skirt. I loved it. Go for it, girl!

The skirt turned out wonderfully. I'm sure your niece will be thrilled.

The skirt looks so pretty and girly. I just want to put it on and twirl in it (and I dont have anything NEAR a 22 inch waist) Congratulations on a fabulous finish.

She will love it to bits, I guarantee that.
Have to say I thought you WERE a

How adorable! We have to wait till Christmas to see her swirl in in, then plop down with the skirt all around! I say it was all worth it!

This takes me WAAAAYYYY back to stuff I wore as a kid. I'm afraid mine was feed sacks and not so pretty. Great going!
