Just had to share

Yesterday, I spent nearly an hour in a doctor's office waiting room. I got a little bit of hand quilting done on a project I've been working on for myself (yes, for myself!). I thank goodness for handwork to keep my mind occupied during times like those. I'll show a photo once I'm done, but I wanted to share this article with you from the Wall Street Journal about truckers taking up quilting and knitting during the down time between loads while on the road. It's great, and if you can, I encourage you to watch the video embedded in the article.

It was great. I'll now be thinking what does that trucker do?

My hubby drives but is home twice a week. I have thought now that the kids are grown it would be fun to long haul and I could ride with him. Of course I would want a machine that I could take with me. We are taking my car to chicago this weekend and half of my stuff is going with me. I love to cut for wedding ring, butterfly applique and a couple of other scrappy projects when I travel. It is fun to get to fondle the fabric all over again. Maybe this trip I will remember to get a few shots of how I set up in the car.- thanks for sharing the article, I will pass it on --cw

My husband is also a trucker who is home twice a week. He drives the east coast from Maine to Florida. I can't wait till I can travel with him. All the quilt shoppes!
He likes to fish. He would only sew if forced.
Thanks Erin.

That's so neat. I've seen it before. Clever you stitching while you wait. I usually take a book.

It's always nice to have something to work on while you have to sit and wait. I love to take something when I am flying. I also love the great things you scored at the guild auction.
