Lapped

I am a slow runner.  I don't run often, but if I run on a track with other runners, I am almost guaranteed to be lapped, to have the same person pass me more than once on my way around the track.

It is the same with quilting, I am afraid.  The new Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt, Good Fortune, starts is just three days, and here I am just now finishing block construction and just now assembling my quilt from LAST year!

Oh well, I have had so much fun doing this one, On Ringo Lake, that I am determined to do Good Fortune as well.  I am driving to New Jersey tomorrow, and won't be back until Sunday, so I'll get a late start and won't have time to finish On Ringo Lake first, but that's OK.  My goal is to do a fabric pull in the morning before I hit the road so I can jump right into sewing when I get back home.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

When I went to a quilt show in the states, I could see how many quilts were made with the same Bonnie Hunter design. I am off the hook because I don't use a machine, but that one really is an eye-catcher. Enjoy the journey. You know the destination will be lovely too.

I love your Ringo Lake! This one makes me want to do one! Almost. I’ll probably just drool over yours. Enjoy the holiday weekend!

It's beautiful! I am anxious to see the new mystery, but I probably won't be jumping in. I haven't been so pleased with my results in the past. Happy Thanksgiving!!

It's looking great. You're in good company. I just finished my Ringo Lake top and back last week.

I lover your ORL. I have about 1/2 of Step 1 done, so you have me lapped!

Wow... It's coming together nicely. You're further ahead than me so you are going strong.

Checked out your post for the 1st Good Fortune link-up (I'm checking out all of you "alternate color scheme" ladies!) and hung around to look around a little more. Re: your ORL: considering the opening of your post, just remember there's another way to look at it: No matter how slow you go, you are lapping everyone who is still waiting to get started! Last year when ORL started, I was still piecing En Provence. While I managed to finish both tops, backs and quilting will wait until 2019. So see, from my perspective, you're right on time!
