It was a gray day here. Or grey. How do YOU spell that color? Does it matter?
Gray days aren't necessarily bad days. They are good days to stay inside and sew. So that's just what I did when I finally got home from work today. I made my October Bee Blocks.

Yeah, I know it is still September, but the materials arrived and I LOVE making Bee blocks, so I always make them right away. It is a chance to do something new and different without committing to a whole quilt.
I also made this little Gift Card Key Ring.

And, if your stash is anything like mine, you probably have little to no gray fabric. When I made that discovery earlier this week, I set off to rectify that with some gray fabric purchases. Little did I know that gray fabric isn't all that common. I have only found two so far that I liked. I bought a yard and a half of each - a yard for me, and half a yard for a reader.

I head out on another work trip tomorrow morning - Little Rock, Arkansas this time - and I'll be back on Tuesday. Grey or gray - it's all the same. We are having rainy,grey days here, too. I will pass on your give away as there are no Starbucks around here. But I love the keyring/cardholder idea - may just borrow that for some Christmas love - gas cards I think would be great with some car or map fabric.
I didn't have any grey in my stash until the last 2 weeks, when I found I needed some for my Wicked blocks. Love that dotty grey the best. What a cute little card holder. Fun colors of perle, too. Glad you had fun on such a grey day!

As far as I'm concerned, you are right. I have very little gray fabric in my stash. My granddaughter loves Starbucks and this would be a nice treat for her.

My maiden name is Gray, so I always use "gray." Lovely giveaway! Seem to always need more coffee once the fall weather rolls in.

I always debate when I write the word grey/gray. It's like one of those trick spelling words to me - lol! Great Bee blocks. They are on my list of things to work on next week. I just discovered your blog today - happened onto this post about grey. It was very grey here today (10/1) and it's raining now. The grey fabric you chose is beautiful. I've never sewn with grey but I've been seeing some beautiful quilts with grey backgrounds and find them very appealing. I hope you have sun now!
