What wonderful ideas you all had for the chicks! And can we all agree that Cheryl is hilarious? I want to put all those ideas in the quilt, but I don't think I have that many pieced letters in me. If I can figure out how to quilt words, I think all those suggestions may make it into the quilt after all. But the word HOT has only 3 simple letters in it, so that's where I started.
And I LOVE IT!
I felt like I was simultaneously channeling Em and Tonya!
I wish I could go piece some more letters RIGHT NOW, but first I've got 2 basketball games, a quilt guild meeting, and a rollerskating date with my boys. After that, who knows if I'll even have energy left to piece?
Who am I kidding!?!

I think you did a great job on the letters and the star. Love the wonk! I say that when you return from all your activities you have a cup of coffee and then you will be recharged to do a little sewing.
OMG...I am really enjoying watching this happen...the funky birds are hot hot hot. How big did you make the star block? I love the wonkyness of it!!!
You did a great job with the letters ,Carol Doak has an alphabet you can paper piece in her books .
another 3 letter word for you
"lips"
reminds me of MASH- Hot Lips Houilhan

Love the word block. Im going to attempt one of these in the not too distant future. I'm sure there will be swearing involved.
You received some great ideas for wording for your chicks.HOT seems like a good place to start. And I also like your wonky star. That eliminates having to get every point to reach exactly to the seam when you sew it to something else - a real plus in my book! I'll be addressing that subject in one of my next couple of blogs because it is really bugging me right now.
