Greetings from the middle of the world!

Quito, Ecuador. I'm in my third time zone in a week. What day is it? What time is it? Yawn!! But before I retire here (loving the rose - nice touch),

I thought I'd share my purchases from today. After I arrived in Quito this afternoon, I walked to the Mercado Artenesal. I love the place, and could spend hours and mucho dinero there. But I was good. Kinda.

For me, a necklace and a hat.

Up for grabs for giveaway winners and/or officemates and/or my mom and sisters, (and you know I'll be keeping a little something for myself),

a zippered, lined bag,

a scarf/shawl that I had a terrible time trying to photograph,

a table scarf, although I must say, I like the way it looks draped over the bed,

a bunch of earrings made mostly from seeds and nuts and wood (a weakness of mine in case you hadn't noticed),

and some artwork made from leaves and bark and whatnot which reminded me of applique

Check out the detail of the flowers

Anyway, giveaway winners, I'm probably done making purchases. I hope you see something that you like either in this entry, or this one from Costa Rica or on this one or this one from Mexico. If so, let me know your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice in an email or comment, and I'll pop your winnings in the mail to you when I get back to the States. Thanks for hanging in there with me on this trip.

Now, off to bed so I'll be ready for tomorrow's school visits...

Those top middle earrings are cute with the faces! Especially this time of year.

You're doing well at the shopping. I always become so lost I end up buying nothing!!! Not one of my favourite sports.

If you're really in the middle of the world Erin, you're halfway to my place. Just keep working your way south. The door is always open.

I'm having shopping envy ...

You must be tired from all that shopping and working! You and your family will be happy to be together again. I love the wooden hotpad. Have a good day today!

Any of the earrings are wonderful if I'm a winner. I also like the "applique photos". I bet you are soooo ready to come home! Safe travels dear one. Hugs, Becky

The colorful wooden ones from Costa Rica would be my choice.

All of the things you have purchased look lovely.
If I win, any one of those wooden earings would look good on my ears.
Safe travels

I think you look really cute in that hat. Think how warm you'll be when you're sliding with the boys this winter!

Wow, you must be getting tired from all your globe-trotting, Erin. But isn't it fun!?!! I love travelling!

Love the table (or bed) scarf from Ecuador, and the little bag. The lizard from Cost Rica (was it?) is also very cute. You have been doing some great shopping.

I think I want your job!

I DON'T want your job, but you certainly do get to see and do some fun things along with all the travel problems. Like the wooden lizard - we have them all around here, unlike in Lex. Not sure how many we have, maybe just a few that move around a lot. They are OK outside but I open the doors slowly because I don't want them inside - but that one could stay inside!

You look adorable in your hat! I'm itching to go on a vacation now that I've seen your adventures in the last week. (I'm fairly jealous of your Mexico City upgrade!)
