Then, after dinner, we went to the art show at his school. Apparently, he is not just creative with fabric, but with paints as well - he won a 3rd prize ribbon for some beautiful spring wildflowers that he painted. Can't wait for those wildflowers to actually bloom in real life - I am ready!
Quilting is becoming an increasingly important and integral part of my life. My creative outlet changes how I view the world around me, influences the activities I pursue with my family, and introduces me to new people whose life paths wouldn't ordinarily intersect mine. My life is much like my favorite types of quilts - scrappy and unconventional, full of interest and surprises, and with an underlying current of making do (and making something beautiful!) with what I have.

Congratulations Jason! The flowers are beautiful.
That is wonderful!! He is definitely a "budding" artist! Congratulations!
He has a way with colour, just like his Mom!
That is an amazing painting. Congratulations on the prize, Jason! You must be so proud of him, Erin.
Nice work. I love his painting and congratulations on the ribbon. Lane
Why wasn't it FIRST Place!! I think it is absolutely beautiful. Erin, you do such a good job of nurturing his artistic talent, too. You let him try all different things. And he's just cute as a bug, too! I would scare your kids to death if I ever met them....I'd be squeezing them silly....they would wonder why the crazy old lady is attacking them!!!! :) They are just so cute!
Erin, They are so lucky to have you to CELEBRATE and ENCOURAGE them! I love the painting!!! Em
What a budding (no pun intended) little artist you have!
That painting is amazing! I couldn't do that. He definately is an artist. I bet he's anxious to see the rag quilt after it's washed too. I love rag quilts.
Jason the flowers are beautiful. Job well done!
I always thought he had an acute artistic sensibility!
