After work yesterday, I did a little more piecing on my flannel buzzsaw quilt. I also rearranged the blocks into 2 fabric blocks to see if I liked more orderly scrappiness. I'm not sure. But I do know that I'm going to have to put this project on hold until I get some more flannel scraps for additional blocks. I have lots of juvenile flannel, but I'm making this quilt with other prints, of which I have much less. I also may decide to make this into two quilts, one with the softer colors, and one with the bolder colors. We'll see.
In the meantime, I plan to work on my Scrappy Stars some more today, and possibly revisit my Bonnie Hunter "Virginia Star" since I now have more neutral scraps to finish up some blocks. And speaking of Bonnie Hunter...my guild is working on getting her as a presenter and teacher in early 2011. Hooray! I told them I don't care when she comes - consider me already signed up! What a treat that would be! My quilting hero right here in person! My fingers are crossed that it works out.

What a handy way to organize your books! Are those 49 books that you already own, or have already read? That's a lot of quilt fiction, and has given me a few titles that I want to follow up on.
Your buzzsaw quilt is coming along very nicely. I wish I had some flannel scraps to send you, but flannel is something I haven't done (well, not yet!)
What a great idea more then once I have purchased a book only to get home and find out I already own it .
Your buzzsaw is looking terrific
I've bought books twice and it just makes me fume. I may have to try this idea. I've been wanting to make an adult flannel throw and have been having trouble finding suitable flannel on line. I think JoAnn's has some in the stores. I'll have to make me a little trip. Love the buzzsaw!
Erin, so glad you picked up on LibraryThing. I still have more to add, then want to do some tags to make certain subjects easier to find. I discovered yesterday that on my new phone I can bookmark websites, or list multiple websites in my contacts list, so it will be easy to access my list of books on my phone!! I swear, this thing (Palm Pre) is a mini-computer!
I am sending Bonnie Hunter the contract today! Mark your calendar for Friday night, Feb. 11 and all day Saturday, Feb 12, 2011, and cross your fingers and toes for good weather!!
I love how your flannel quilt is coming along! That will be so warm and snuggly!
Erin, what is your block size- I am thinking if each of your readers sends you a fat quarter or even a half yd. you can whip this top out in no time. Do you perfer pre-washed or off the bolt?
Mine will be in the mail by Friday- Sorry to Hi-Jack your post but I really ejoy seeing your progress and you need to get this finished before I get brainwashed into starting one myself!!!!
Only one question: pre-wash or NOT- cw
