I spent most of my day making a dozen
crayon rolls, waiting on customers, and helping two of the guys I recruited to Washington and Lee University sew nylon drawstring backpacks to take to the gym.

But every chance I got, I went to the window to work on my first treadle quilt.  I am using the
Fading Charms quilt as inspiration, but of course, true to form, I am modifying it a bit.  Here's what's hanging in the window for the weekend.  It was hard to walk away at closing time today; I could have stayed there sewing until dark!  I am loving treadle sewing!!!

| It is hard taking a photo of something in a window.  What's the trick? |

Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI don't know which I like better ... the window view or those two guys with the bags. Maybe they will return to make a quilt.
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed with those gym bags. Way to go boys!
ReplyDeletePS. Cant help you with the window shot but the quilt looks darling.
The backpacks are nice. I made the fading charms quilt. It was a fun quilt to make. Made it with African fabrics. Love the treadle machine.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you can get better photos when the sun isn't shining. Several photographers I know prefer to take photos on cloudy days. (As long as it isn't raining, of course!) Otherwise, maybe a different angle will give you less of a reflection?
ReplyDeleteKudos to the boys for making their own bags!
Love that treadle in the window. Keep on having fun with your new business.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's so neat! I've never used a treadle. Bet it was a wonderful day!
