I also spent some time quilting my little ELLA name quilt. I went with a very Tonya-esque freehand Baptist Fan.
So I'm happy with how my weekend worked out - warm weather and sunshine, some sewing, a trip to visit my mom, yummy winnings at the kids' school fundraiser CakeWalk, karate, sleeping in, air hockey tournaments with the kids, videos with the family, and the list goes on - but I'll be kicking myself tomorrow when I realize how much work I have yet to do.
Don't kick yourself - you needed a break! I love how your log cabin quilt turned out. It's wonderful! And I can't wait to see the whole Ella quilt revealed.
ReplyDeleteI hope your week at work isn't too zoo-ey. :)
Don't be hard on yourself. I've learned that we all need time to do what we like to do and deserve to do it. Then everything else falls in place a little bit easier. I love the new log cabin quilt. Great Job
ReplyDeleteYou needed some time off work and it looks like you made good use of your self imposed time off! Both projects look great.
ReplyDeleteYou made good use of that time. We had a "rough-cut" day to help the boys with their pinewood derbys.(the average ex-pat does not come with saws and power tools)It was great watching the boys make their cars but total quilting was about one square foot! Grab that time when you can.
ReplyDeleteIm so glad you got to have some fun! You've been working so hard.
ReplyDeleteLog Cabin is one of my favorite patterns - your quilt looks fantastic! Great job!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get some sewing in. Love the Log Cabin!
ReplyDeleteWOW. You are hand quilting the Ella. I am always in AWE when things are hand quilted. The log cabin is gorgeous! So happy for you, hope work went well. With all this loveliness how could it not?
ReplyDeleteI love how your scappy log cabin top turned out...so beautiful. Work is work, make sure you leave it behind sometimes cause in the end they won't thank you - they'll just replace you....
ReplyDeletegreat log cabin - wheee, fun. love the hand quilting - looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the log cabin - and like your idea about extending it at the top so it ends up not being a square. Glad you took some time for Erin!
